11/7: Night Six of Tour

So we haven’t had a ton of internet access lately, but here goes nothing. Tonight, we played in Mesa, Arizona and I’m currently watching Happy Body play the tail end of their wonderful set. It’s been a crazy tour so far, great things have happened, and terrible things have happened.

Bad news first. We started the first four days of tour with two canceled shows. It was pretty disappointing. Our show in Victorville and also Camarillo (both in CA) were canceled and we just had to suck it up those days without our expected earnings (which helps pay for gas and food the next day) which was hard. We’ve also been having a ton of trouble with our taillights on our trailer. With about 10 hours of work put into it and 125 dollars spent on trying to get them in working condition again, they’re still not working, which is a bummer because it makes us a target. We’re hoping to get it fixed very soon.

Good news second. The tour has been seriously incredible. Honestly, I haven’t met people as kind as the ones out at the shows in a long time. Everybody has been so courteous and supportive. Whether it’s been buying CDs, merch, telling us we did a great job, complimenting our gear and sound, and simply just BEING at the shows, it’s all been so amazing to have. The bands we’re touring with are about the chillest dudes (and gal) we could have asked for. We all get along great and often find ourselves hanging out before and after our shows. On a personal level, it’s everything I could have asked for with fulfilling my dream of touring. Everything down to the loading, unloading, wearing dirty clothes, showering every other day, driving hundreds of miles, running into issues and problem solving, and more. That may not sound very appealing but knowing that all of those are allowing me to play music every night makes it completely worth it.

Tomorrow is Tucson, and then followed by Roswell, and then Texas. The longest drives are ahead of us but we’re looking forward to tightening up our set further and also meeting all of you wonderful people out there. Take care and we hope to see you all soon! For dates, check out our facebook.

Until next time (that we have the interwebz),
- Brian/Culprit
